In 2016, I made a professional shift from graphic design & marketing to interior design and have loved every moment. The owner of a graphic design/ marketing business for over 25 years, I have always maintained that good design applies to all that is visual; that includes decorating. While I may have spent 25+ years designing logos and corporate communications, I believe these same skills also apply to interior design and set me apart from typical interior designers.
My approach is to help create a beautiful space in a practical, affordable manner. I have renovated, built and redecorated my whole adult life. This is my passion now.

RENOVATION DESIGN —
Renovation design services help take a rough concept to a finished project. Many details go into renovating a space. The flow and function of a space is as important as the colors, textures and furnishing. I will assist on every aspect of the project from start to finish and provide practical, creative ideas and suggestions for unique solutions to make your space beautiful and functional. I will work closely with the architect and contractor to make sure every aspect of the renovation is addressed down to the finest detail. If desired, I have fabulous resources with whom I have partnered and worked on all types of renovations.
INTERIOR DESIGN —
Interior design services include providing advise on color, texture, furniture, furnishings, art, and everything in between. I will carefully evaluate the space and any items you currently own and provide recommendations for placement and use. I enjoy finding the special balance between old and new and providing creative, beautiful solutions using moderately priced materials in a creative way. I will research and shop for everything - always with budget in mind. Combining creative solutions along with smart shopping is the focus of every project. With so many options available today - it's not necessary to spend a fortune to create a fresh new look.
RENOVATION DESIGN —
Renovation Design means helping to manage a construction project from design concept to project completion. I will work closely with the architect and contractor to make sure every aspect of the renovation is addressed down to the finest detail. Whether building new or redesigning an existing space, I will assist on every aspect of the project from start to finish and provide creative, beautiful solutions using moderately priced materials in a creative way. I will research and shop to present options for layout, fixtures, furnishing, accessories, hardware, lighting and everything in between. Helping to manage a renovation requires knowledge of the process and understanding of the materials and details. We will work together so that you can enjoy the process and love the end result.
INTERIOR DESIGN —
Interior Design includes providing advise on layout, color, texture, furniture, furnishings, art, and everything in between. Sometimes a "Refresh" is all you need. I will carefully evaluate the space and any items you currently own and provide recommendations for placement and use. I excel in finding the balance between old and new and will provide practical, creative solutions to make your space unique, beautiful and functional. I will research and shop for everything needed - always with budget in mind. With so many options available today - it's not necessary to spend a fortune to create a fresh new look. We will work together - make all decisions together - and alert each other if something isn’t right. In the end — it is your space and I want you to love it!
COST STRUCTURE —
SHD has a unique approach to billing which I believe is in the best interest of the client and SHD. I do not bill on an hourly basis or add mark up to product or construction costs. These costs are billed directly to client with no markup. My costs are for design and solutions. At the completion of the job a project binder is presented with all receipts, specs and information for your records.
PROJECT BID/AGREEMENT:
SHD will present a project bid/agreement for design services only based on a detailed, mutually agreed upon 'Scope of Work'. 'The Scope of Work' will include a comprehensive outline of all project details and services needed. Once signed off, it is my obligation to provide the services outlined in the project bid for the amount agreed upon. This ensures that your project is finished and complete with every picture hung and detail addressed.
CONTRACTOR AND PURCHASES:
All construction costs will be billed directly to the client with no mark up.
All purchases will be billed directly to client with no mark up and designer discount applied when available.
