KIDS GAME ROOM —
WESTON, MA
Transforming this former kids' game room into a space fit for teenage boys was both a creative challenge and a lot of fun. I believe every space should offer comfort in both form and function—and this project allowed us to strike that balance.
The space became more comfortable by:
-
Adding warmth to the walls and ceiling with soft gray tones
-
Installing lush, patterned carpet to bring interest and texture to the large footprint
-
Creating a stylish focal point TV wall using textured wallpaper and remote-controlled sconces
-
Designing a special display area to showcase the client’s collection of hand-carved trinkets from Guatemala
-
Incorporating colorful decorative art, mixing both old and new pieces
The space became more functional by:
-
Creating large desk areas for each boy to use for gaming and homework
-
Relocating the drum set to its own dedicated corner
-
Repurposing existing cube shelving units to improve storage and organization
The result is a room that feels personal, purposeful, and perfectly suited for growing teens.
