Transforming a "kids" game room into a room for teenage boys was great fun. I believe any space should provide comfort in both form and function. Mixing old with new we turned this space into a comfortable, functional area to be used  for specific purposes

The space became more comfortable by:

  • Adding warmth to the walls & ceiling with soft  gray tones

  • Installing new lush, patterned carpet to create interest on the large footprint of the room

  • Creating a pretty, focal point TV wall using textured wall paper and remote control wall sconces

  • Creating special display area to showcase the client's many hand-carved trinkets from Guatemala

  • Adding a colorful touch with decorative art both old and new

The space became more functional by:

  • Creating large desk areas for each boy for gaming and homework

  • Relocating the drum set to its own area

  • Repurposing the many cube shelving units for storage
